Research and Development Events and Actions 2015

Sharing Passions
Part 1: June 2015
Individual lines of song lyrics were collected from choir members at their respective venues in exchange for postcards and sometimes Love Dolls. Cut up sequences of individual lines were reassembled to form new combinations and perspectives, revealing passions and messages that highlight a shared resonance in human emotion. Lyrics were starting points for the second stage of research where choir members were invited to visit gallery spaces near their choirs in Newcastle, Middlesbrough and Berlin respectively.

Sharing Passions
Part 2: November 2015
The emphasis of these gallery sessions was to explore ideas of exchange and transformation in a playful way over tea and cakes. People made their own cut up poems and took part in audio recording sessions reading lyrics word by word from a karaoke style autocue animation. Recordings were transformed into soundscapes that accompanied performative gestural video actions for Press Play and Record.
